Pernille Fjerritslev Mortensen was at ITU to tell us about elders, and some of the projects regarding social interaction. A beginning for the project we have to turn in December this year, as part of our exams. She told us about her experience at “Københavns Kommune” (Copenhagens Municipality – they take care of the elders in the CPH area).
We had an upcoming asignment where we had to do some field study. So we were given some suggestions on where to collect information. We chose “Amager Centeret”, a place where a lot of elder people hang around and do their daily shopping. Equipped with a camera we went out and shot some pictures. It was not easy! Most of them didn’t like to be photographed, so it took along time, hence the small amount of photos we ended up with. The group tried several methods. We went to the local pub, supermarket and different shops. None of the places had elders who were willing – which surprised us, we didn’t think it would be THAT hard.
